Фестиваль воздушных шаров в Брюсселе
Сегодня, 28 февраля, в Брюсселе состоится фестиваль воздушных шаровых, которому суждено стать открывающим мероприятием года комиксов, коим в Бельгии назван 2009 год. Дело в том, что Брюссель является родиной комиксов. В городе творили такие именитые мастера комиксов, как Эрже, Андре Франкин и Моррис де Бевер, создавшие серии комиксов о Тантане, Марсупилами, Счастливчике Люке, Гастоне и других ставших популярными во всем мире персонажах. Уникальной достопримечательностью Брюсселя являются комиксы на стенах домов. В городе уже сложилась традиция празднований, посвященных комиксам, однако в этот раз они станут более масштабными, поскольку именно в году отмечает 20-летие Бельгийский Центр Искусства Комиксов, расположенный в здании, построенном в стиле ар-нуво, и хранящий коллекцию из более 25 тысяч комиксов.
Что касается непосредственно фестиваля, то здесь можно встретить гигантские воздушные шары, изображающие героев известных мультфильмов и комиксов, а также бельгийских фольклорных персонажей. Процессия с шарами движется вдоль всего города по его главным магистралям. Прототипом фестиваля стал нью-йоркский День воздушных шаров, впервые проведенный легендарным торговым центром Macy’s еще в 1924 году. Конечно, его бельгийский аналог не является столь же масштабным и не собирает ежегодно до трех миллионов зрителей, однако менее веселым и сказочным от этого быть не перестает.
